Standford Williams, a 50-year-old US-based Guya-nese went missing last Thursday after he aban-doned his trip to George-town on the Lethem trail.

Eon Williams told Stabroek News on Sunday that Standford was on vacation in Guyana with his family in Lethem for a few months. The man was on his way to board his flight back to Texas when he went missing.

The family was inform-ed that the bus transporting the passengers stopped after a truck encountered difficulties on the trail. Standford began acting in a strange manner, exited the bus, and went into the clump of bushes. The bus driver and passengers tried to talk to him and he refused to speak. A search party was later launched but he was nowhere to be found.

The bus was heading to Georgetown but at the time of the incident it was in the vicinity of Kuru-pukari and Frenchman Hill.

The family members are asking persons traversing between Mahdia, Lethem and Frenchman trails or anyone with information to contact the nearest police station, or his family on 668-2040.
