Armed bandits last evening invaded the B Hussain shop located in Cumberland Village, East Canje Berbice and shot one of the owners.
According to information, Jagdeo Phillips sustained a gunshot injury to his belly and was rushed to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital following the robbery.
Stabroek News was told that the bandits pounced on the man and his wife just around 11 pm and robbed them before escaping.
As of last evening, police were at the scene as an investigation was launched.
