Essequibo teen dies after crashing into truck with motorcycle

A popular electrician in Region Two is currently in police custody after his vehicle was involved in a crash around 11:39 hrs yesterday at Abram Zuil public road, with a teenager who subsequently lost his life.

Dead is 17-year-old Nylon Gittens of Henrietta, Essequibo Coast. 

According to reports, Gittens was riding a motorcycle, CL 9333, without a helmet when he lost control and crashed into a white Canter truck.

Gittens was picked up in an unconscious state and rushed to the Suddie Public Hospital where he was in the Intensive Care Unit. He was pronounced dead around 18:30 hrs, yesterday.

A resident of the area said, “We heard the loud noise and when we rushed out he was lying in a pool of blood. He was badly injured.”

Police are continuing their investigations.
