Linepath man dies in collision

A 23-year-old Linepath, Skeldon man died after he was involved in an accident along the Crabwood Creek Public Road  around 7.45 pm yesterday.

Dead is Altaf Lalman, a temporary government worker, of Block D Linepath. His sister, Asma Lalman, a secondary school student sustained serious injuries and was receiving treatment at the Skeldon Public Hospital as of last evening.

According to information gathered, Lalman and his sister were heading to a supermarket on a motorcycle when they reportedly collided with a pickup which made a sudden turn in front of them along the Crabwood Creek Public Road.

Lalman who sustained head injuries was pronounced dead on arrival at the Skeldon Public Hospital. 

As of last evening relatives remained in a state of shock as they could not believe what had happened. One person noted that the duo’s mother had to seek treatment at the hospital as well after she was informed of the accident. 

The police in Berbice have launched an investigation into the accident.
