Police on the Essequibo Coast are investigating the murder of Anthony Shivlall, called ‘Davie’, a 27-year-old of Lima Sands, Essequibo Coast, which occurred around 2 am today.
The murder occurred at McNabb, Lima Sands. It was allegedly committed by his wife, an 18-year-old from Lima Sands, who is presently in Police custody and has admitted to stabbing her husband, the police say.
At about 3.30 am today, a police team visited the murder scene. The Police processed the scene and examined the body. Detectives observed one stab wound on the victim’s left chest, one stab wound to his lower right chest area, and one to his left hand.
Police, acting on information received, arrested the suspect at her mother’s house at McNabb. Police told her of the offence committed, cautioned her, and she admitted stabbing her husband.
