Two more wanted in connection with Mon Repos unrest

The police yesterday issued wanted bulletins for two persons for alleged crimes of terrorism on the East Coast of Demerara (ECD) in relation to Acts of Terrorism.

Patrick Cummings, 52 and Robin Simon, 44 are wanted for questioning on acts of terrorism committed on the East Coast of Demerara on June, 28th 2022. Cummings is also accused of arson.

Their last known addresses are were 72 Middle Walk Golden Grove, ECD and Lot 6 Haslington, ECD respectively.

Anyone who has seen or has information on the whereabouts of Cummings and Simon are asked to contact the police on 225-6940, 225-8196, 226-7476, 225-2317, 227-1149 or the nearest police station.

The two will bring the number 14 of persons who are accused of terrorism for the June 28th 2022 riot. The police late last month issued bulletins for 12 men for similair offences and nine have since been charged and ganted $300,000 bail each.

On June 28, 2022,  the protest over Quindon Bacchus, who was shot and killed by police, turned violent at the Mon Repos Market where vendors were robbed and beaten by rioters while their vehicles were burnt and their stalls destroyed.

Following the looting and robbing of the vendors, citizens took photos of some of the suspects fleeing with the stolen goods on the roadway.

Police still have arrest warrants out for three more suspects.
