Time political parties lend a helping hand to the poorest of the poor

Dear Editor,

Many of the poor and powerless have lost hope and feel helpless. What better time than now to be reminded that today more than ever we need to come together as one Guyana. These words were taken from the song, “We are the world.” There comes a time when we should hear certain call. Guyana must come together as one, Guyana. Guyanese are suffocating, suffering, starving from the high food and rent prices. It’s time the political parties lend a helping hand to the poorest of the poor to save their life, the greatest gift of all.

We can’t go on pretending day by day that somehow, somewhere things will soon make a change. We are all part of God’s great big family. And the truth is food and shelter what they need. We are Guyanese; we are poor people. The political parties are the ones who can make a brighter day so they need to start caring and giving. All political parties can show the country that they care by sending them your heart so that they will know someone care and their lives will be stronger, better and free.

All politicians must lend a helping hand, and all must make a choice to save other lives to make a better day for you and them. The poor people feel like they are down and out, and they see no hope for a better future. The political parties must help them to believe, against all odds and give them hope. The political parties can’t let them down. The political leaders must help them to realize that a change can come if the politicians stand together as one Guyana.

Sincerely,

Anthony Pantlitz
