Guyanese business couple robbed in Trinidad

(Trinidad Guardian) The owners of Brazilian Gold store in San Fernando were robbed at gunpoint as they returned to their Gulf View home last night. When the business couple, Guyanese nationals, got home around 9.45 pm they unlocked the front door and left it open.

The 44-year-old man and the 35-year-old woman were in the living room when three men armed with guns, wearing dark-coloured clothing, ski masks and gloves, barged in and announced a hold-up. They robbed the man of a $3,000 ring and $3000 cash that was the day’s sales, his T&T driver’s permit, Guyanese passport and identification card.

As they were leaving, one of the suspects struck the woman on her head. PC Thomas of the San Fernando Police is investigating.
