Smalta kite contest set for tomorrow

The Smalta Flying High Kite Flying Competition returns tomorrow, Monday, 10th April 2023.

A release from Guyana Breweries said that the event invites kite enthusiasts and spectators from all walks of life to come together in a celebration of artistry, craftsmanship, and friendly competition.

The competition will be held at five locations across Guyana and cash prizes are up for grabs.

The release gave the date and time as: Monday, 10th April 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM

The category is: Most Creative Smalta Branded Kite

 

The prizes are as follows:

1st Prize: $100,000

2nd Prize: $50,000

3rd Prize: $25,000

The competition takes place at five locations:

Everest Cricket Ground – Carifesta Avenue, Georgetown

Lusignan Golf Ground – East Coast Demerara

Brother Dam – Zeelugt, East Bank Essequibo

#19 Cricket Ground – Corentyne, Berbice

Reliance Sports Ground – Essequibo Coast

To participate in the competition, simply present a receipt of a purchase for one case of Smalta. The receipt can be from any outlet nationwide or from the event locations on the day of the competition.

The judging criteria are as follows:

Craftsmanship

Visual appeal

Brand integration

Balance and proportion

Originality and creativity

The release said that the competition encourages participants to think outside the box and showcase their most inventive ideas in the “Most Creative Smalta Branded Kite” category.
