A GWI employee is now counting his losses after a kerosene stove that was used incorrectly exploded yesterday morning and destroyed his home at Lot 1391 Viva Street, North Ruimveldt, Georgetown.

The Guyana Fire Ser-vice received a call at 08:50 hours and four tenders from the Central, Alberttown, and West Ruimveldt stations responded to the fire. According to Charles who spoke with Stabroek News, the kerosene stove was incorrectly used and as a result exploded and ignited nearby combustibles.
