Pensions decisions taken but implementation less than perfect

Dear Editor,

It was not surprising, pensioners complaining of the long wait they endured (SN July 5), on the first day of the aligned old age pension payments system rolled out.  It was bound to happen.  The on-the-spot decision did not take into consideration the modus operandi and mechanisms to be employed.  Too often this is what happens….decisions are taken but the implementation is less than perfect.  Of course we do not live in a perfect world but it would be expected that some degree of efficiency would go into implementing decisions. It is hoped as the process progresses that all the kinks would be ironed out and the system would be efficient and satisfactory.

Sincerely,

Shamshun Mohamed
