These two drugs not available for heart patients

Dear Editor,

I read with great interest the report which states Guyana has one of the highest rates of cardiovascular deaths and that the Ministry of Health adequately cares for persons with cardiovascular diseases.

This all sounds impressive but Editor, I give one example of concern and can produce details if necessary.  There is a four score plus old patient where cardiologists in Ireland, the United States and the Caribbean including Guyana recommended two drugs, eliquis and sotalol.

Despite efforts for months these two drugs are not available at both the private and public institutions in Guyana.

Dear Editor, it would be useful if the Minister of Health and those who write gloriously can say if this is true or not. We want facts.

Yours faithfully,
