Duo charged with assaulting each other at Demico House

Rawle Nelson (no address given) and Lydia Torrington (no address given) appeared on Friday at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court to answer to assault charges laid against them. Before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly, it was alleged that on July 3, at Demico House, Stabroek, Georgetown, Nelson unlawfully and maliciously assaulted Torrington. He pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail in the sum of $10,000.

It is also alleged that on July 3, at Demico House, Stabroek, Georgetown, Torrington unlawfully and maliciously assaulted Nelson so as to cause him actual bodily harm and made use of threatening language so as to breach the peace.

Torrington pleaded not guilty to the charges and was granted $25,000 bail on the assault charge and $10,000 in relation to the use of threatening language.

They are expected to make their next court appearance on August 28 for statements.
