Contempt for rulings

Dear Editor,

It must be seen as contempt for the rulings, the failure by the opposition to pay awards meted out on its many failed court cases.  The AG is now going after the losing litigants with a view to recover what was duly awarded and legally owed (GT July 20) after several requests went unheeded and ignored. Staying with the courts, the failure so far to have the election fraud cases commence is a vexing matter and has moved beyond the realm of the comprehensible. The appointment of a battery of prosecutors and three years and counting with no movement suggests this too must be seen as a contempt of sorts. Will this matter slide and slip off the radar and those accountable allowed to go free? The AG had said some time ago the DPP would be asked for an explanation.  Since then nothing further.

Justice delayed can only be deemed to being denied.  The populace deserves better than this.

Sincerely,

Shamshun Mohamed
