Tony’s Auto Spares on Thursday donated a Toyota Hilux, valued at $14 million, to the Lethem Fire Station.

Two representatives of the company, Subrina Bhagwandin and Jason Ramcharan presented the donation to Minister of Home Affairs, Robeson Benn and Chief Fire Officer, Gregory Wickham.

The ceremony was held at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Brickdam.  Benn noted that the donation was a significant gesture.

Also present at the handing-over ceremony was the Mayor of Lethem, John Macedo, who noted that the pickup would not only be of great benefit to the Guyana Fire Service but also to the township of Lethem and surrounding communities.
