BK Security Manager, Michael Bascom died yesterday after his vehicle toppled at Le Ressouvenir on the East Coast Demerara.
The accident occurred at 12.30 pm as Bascom was doing his routine security checks. At the time he was on the Railway Embankment Road headed to Georgetown.
According to witnesses, Bascom was travelling at a fast rate and tried to overtake a vehicle but veered towards a parked one on the opposite side of the road. While trying to avoid colliding with the vehicle, Bascom swerved and hit a bridge and the vehicle then toppled after striking two utility poles.
Bascom later succumbed to his injuries.
