‘Poke Eye’ charged with murder of Haslington security guard

Terrence Sam, known as ‘Poke Eye’, a 51-year-old security guard of Hasling-ton, East Coast Demerara was on Tuesday charged with the murder of Eric Fraser.

He appeared at the Cove and John Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Fabayo Azore where the charge was read to him. He was not required to plead and was remanded to prison.

The accused had turned himself in to the Brickdam Police Station on Saturday. It is alleged that on Thursday, August 11, he stabbed and killed 42-year-old Fraser, a construction worker called ‘50 Cent’ of Haslington.

Investigations revealed that Fraser and Sam were liming at Mogo Barber-shop located at Haslington North when an argument erupted between the two over an old grievance. Sam then took a knife and stabbed Fraser in the groin. The victim collapsed and was rushed to the George-town Public Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
