Tri-nation series for Lady Jags U17s

The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) has officially confirmed that the Lady Jaguars U17 programme will not compete in the Concacaf Qualifiers but instead will participate in a tri-nation international series featuring Suriname and French Guiana.

This was disclosed by an official release from the GFF. According to the correspondence, “Guyana’s Under-17 Girls National Team will not participate in the August Concacaf Girls U17 qualifiers but instead, will focus on a U17 Girls Tri-Nation Football Tournament involving Suriname and French Guiana.” The release further said, “The GFF has officially informed Concacaf of its decision to opt out of the August 25 to September 2 Women’s U-17 Championship qualifying competition and will now focus its resources on preparations for the Tri-Nation tournament.”

The GFF did not disclose the reasons for not partaking in the Concacaf u17 women’s qualifiers. The correspondence also did not reveal when and where the tri-nation series will be staged but simply stated that further details about the tournament will be released in the future.
