First Born set to release single from upcoming album

Guyanese reggae band First Born is set to soon release a single from an upcoming album, ‘The Truth Must Prevail’. Written by Esmond Syfox, the single’s inspiration, according to band member Troy Azore, revolves around the importance of truth in today’s world — whether through honest communication or genuine actions.

First Born, a reggae group that originated in the 1990s, has a rich history of touring and performing in various places. The band initially consisted of eight members, later reducing to five, and currently stands at three: Azore, Trayon Garnett, and Rolston Richmond.

To date, the group has released five albums, performed in countries like England and Suriname and shared stages with renowned artists such as Shaggy, and Beres Hammond.

Remaining true to First Born’s core message of being forever inspirational, spreading brotherhood, righteousness, and obedience, the new album, ‘The Truth Must Prevail’, Azore said, emphasises the group’s commitment to crafting music that resonates with contemporary issues.

The collaborative writing effort for the album involves both Syfox and First Born, emphasising a harmonious partnership that contributes to the album’s authenticity.

Syfox will also play a pivotal role in producing the group’s upcoming albums. These collaborative efforts will be recorded at Azores’ Studio, Til/shiloh Records, in partnership with Rochomes Records. Azore expressed excitement about having more creative control over the album, which has allowed them to align more harmoniously with their artistic vision.

Meanwhile, the tragic loss of Azore’s girlfriend and fellow artist, Sonjah aka Royalty, earlier this year adds an emotional layer to the album. Sonjah will also be featured on the album, and Azore hopes her presence will continue to inspire and leave a lasting impact.

The creative process for First Born predominantly stems from inspiration. Drawing from this well, the group aims to influence others positively through their music.

In essence, ‘The Truth Must Prevail’, not only showcases the group’s musical evolution but also aims to inspire listeners with messages that resonate with contemporary times, uplift souls and foster positivity.
