Shamar Davis (address not stated) appeared before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court yesterday where he was charged with robbery.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge.

It is alleged that on August 17, at Water Street, George-town, while being in the company of others, Davis robbed Colex Jilkes of one gray haversack valued $20,000, containing one Lenovo laptop valued $150,000, one JBL speaker valued $15,000, four silver buttons bearing Guyana Revenue Authority’s logo valued $20,000, one Guyana Revenue Authority’s tie valued $12,000, one Guyana Revenue Authority’s Badge $5,000, one black iPhone valued $50,000, and $30,000 cash.

The prosecutor objected to bail on the grounds that the defendant was convicted in 2021 for a matter of a similar nature.

Bail was refused.

Davis is scheduled to make his next court appearance on October 06.
