Duo charged with using abusive language, assault on each other

William Niewenkirk and Marlon Belle appeared on Friday at the Georgetown Magistrates Court before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly where they were both charged with using abusive language.

Both pleaded not guilty to the charge.

It was alleged that on September 4, at Lot 50 Diamond Park, Niewenkirk and Belle became engaged in a heated exchange of abusive language, leading to a breach of the peace. Niewenkirk was additionally charged with using threatening behaviour towards Belle.

It is also alleged that on September 4, Niewenkirk assaulted Belle, and Belle retaliated by throwing missiles at Niewenkirk. They both pleaded not guilty to these charges, were placed on bail and will return to court on October 18.
