The Ministry of Labour through its Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Department is investigating the workplace fatality involving 17-year-old Javid Shaw, junior site worker of Industrial Fabri-cations Incorporated (InFab Inc).
The accident occurred at 8:45 am yesterday, at InFab Site (HD Studio) at Lama Avenue, Bel Air Park, when Shaw was descending from the third/fourth floor of a five-storey building to uplift painting supplies from the ground floor. He fell to his death.
Following reports of the incident, OSH officers visited the site and spoke with the relevant authorities. Shaw resides at Dochfour.
The Minister of Labour, Joseph Hamilton expressed his condolences to the grieving family and friends of the deceased.
Hamilton said that a thorough investigation will be conducted to provide answers to the many questions that linger. Investigations will continue today.
