(Trinidad Express) A supermarket security guard was shot and killed last night.
Shami Soogrim was gunned down on the compound of the Brentwood branch of Massy Stores in Chaguanas.
Police do not think the killing was connected to a robbery attempt.
Soogrim, 61, died in the parking lot.
People who knew Soogrim described him as hard-working and friendly.
At a press conference yesterday, police officers said there were 454 homicides for the year, and 54 were “solved”.
Trinidad and Tobago has a homicide solve rate of 12 per cent.
