Ramotar may be correct in his argument

Dear Editor,

Again because of the economic state Guyana is in many Guyanese are forced to leave but mind you Editor, while it is not always easy to live and work in a foreign country where the choices and opportunities are numerous, it is worth it. Like many Guyanese, I constantly keep abreast with what is unfolding in Guyana. Recently I read an article where former President Ramotar voiced his opinion about the oil deal. Ramotar, like many other Guyanese, has awaken. Editor, he may be correct in his argument.

Editor, ExxonMobil is not the largest oil mogul in the world and they have been in the oil business for many years now and this should give many an understanding that once they have ventured into any business with any country their principle objective is to come out on the winning side. Editor, they are not going into a deal to lose and that’s how they do business. And, yes, the politicians in Guyana signed on to a bad deal and can that deal be renegotiated? The answer is yes. However, it is will take the whole of Guyana to lobby for a better deal.

Sincerely,

Yannason Duncan
