Bodywork man held at Wisroc with car stolen from Lima Sands

A motor bodywork man, Gose Awad, 29, was yesterday held at Wisroc Junction in Wismar with a car which had been stolen from Lima Sands,  Essequibo Coast.

The police said in a press release that at about 9 am yesterday, acting on information received,  ranks from Regional Division #10 went to Wisroc Junction where they intercepted a silver grey motor car bearing registration number PMM 4928 which was reported stolen between 2023-09-26 and 2023-10-02 at Lima Sands, Essequibo Coast in Region Two.

The police said that the car is the property of Nefertiti Hamilton, a 29-year-old teacher of Mainstay, Essequibo.

When police intercepted the vehicle at the Wisroc Junction in Region Ten, it was being driven by Awad who is also from Lima Sands.

The suspect is also wanted for break and enter and larceny committed on Ganesh Jagmohan, a 58-year-old bus driver of Cornelia Ida, West Coast Demerara, which occurred between 22-05-2023 and 27-05-2023. He is also accused of stealing from Jagmohan articles valued at $2,500,000.

The suspect was arrested and escorted to the Wismar Police Station along with the stolen motor car, which was subsequently lodged while he was placed into custody.

Awad and the motor car were later escorted to Regional Police Division # 3 for investigation, after which he will be taken to Region #2 for further investigation into the stolen car.
