Marian Academy, St Pius, through to quarterfinals

Defending champion Enterprise, St. Pius, West Ruimveldt, Marian Academy and Redeemer were among the teams to secure quarterfinal berths when the round of 16 section of the 10th Courts Pee Wee Football Championship concluded yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

Enterprise edged St. Gabriel’s 1-0 via a Dontay Kowlessar strike in the third minute while Marian Academy mauled Colaaco 10-0. Rhys George tallied six conversions in the 12th, 14th, 18th, 25th, 26th, and 33rd minute, while Maxwell Viapree bagged a double in the third and 16th minute. Adding goals in the 29th and 39th minute respectively were  Shad Waldrond and Joshua Johnson

Similarly, St. Pius thumped Friendship 5-0. Aaron Vasconcellos recorded a double in the 25th and 38th minute with Octain Moore, Daniel Chesney and Ezekiel Lewis scoring in the 28th, 33rd, and 35th minute, respectively. Likewise, West Ruimveldt brushed aside Tucville 4-0. Teon Francis, Deshawn Thomas, Eli Bryant and Dane Vancooten scored in the third, fifth, 25th, and 37th minute respectively. Also, Redeemer crushed Kabakaburi 4-1. David DeCosta recorded a hat-trick in the fifth, 28th, and 38th minute while Jonathan Olivier netted in the 24th minute. On target in the loss was Jamie Thomas in the eighth minute.
