Police are investigating the suspected drowning of 24-year-old Chris LaRose on Sunday afternoon at Kurutuku Village, Cuyuni River.
The body was recovered on Monday in the river.
Police said that LaRose reportedly drowned at about 4 pm when he attempted to swim across the Cuyuni River.
According to the police report, the incident was witnessed by a 9-year-old of the village, who raised an alarm.
