The second edition of the Randolph ‘Ducky’ Singh Memorial cycle race pedals off today from Vlissengen Road/Irving Street and last year’s winner of the inaugural event, Jamual John is confident that he can make it two in a row.

Speaking to Stabroek Sports, John said that while he is not up to his usual high standard in terms of form and fitness, he is still banking on his skills to retain the title.

“I feel good despite not being too in form but my race level is still up there. I haven’t been training as rigorously as before, but I have been easing myself back into the saddle with a new coach and we have been making some strides,” he declared.

Also participating will be Brian Meusa of Atlanta, USA, who has been building a reputation quietly for himself. He recently came over to Guyana after spending some time on the circuits of Trinidad & Tobago. Another top contender that will be on show is World Masters Sprint Champion James Jolyon Joseph. All in all it will make for an interesting race today.
