The Israelis have railed internationally, and justifiably so, against the atrocities committed by Hamas one month ago on women, children and babies. However the international media were complicit in covering up what Netanyahu said a week ago, when he publicly exhorted his soldiers to remember what they had done to the Amalekites. Very few would know that Netanyahu was referring to the slaughter referred to in the book of Samuel: “Now go, attack the Amalekites. Destroy everything that belongs to them as an offering to the Lord. Don’t let anything live. Put to death men and women, children and small babies.” Fewer know that just 50 years ago, Ariel Sharon waited until the Palestinian men in a small village had left home, and proceeded to massacre all the defenceless women and children.
What is the Guyana government waiting for? We must join our South American brothers and sever all ties with Israel immediately.
