Golden Grove Secondary student suffers fractured skull

A 5th form student of Golden Grove Secondary School, East Coast Demerara, was severely injured during a confrontation inside the school’s compound yesterday afternoon.

Stabroek News was told that there was a confrontation after a group of male students threw squibs at the victim. During the confrontation the victim was struck in the head with a piece of wood and subsequently collapsed. He then experienced episodes of seizures and blood was seen gushing from his head. He was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery for a fractured skull.

Investigations are ongoing.
