Charlotte St biker dies in Pearl accident

Police are investigating a fatal incident which occurred at around 7.30 am yesterday on the public road at Pearl, East Bank Demerara, involving a motorcycle #CM 6193, owned and driven by Mark Marks (now deceased), a 41-year-old of Charlotte Street, Georgetown.

Enquiries disclosed that the motorcycle was proceeding south along the eastern side of the public road when the motorcyclist lost control of his bike and fell on the road, skidding some distance away. As a result, the driver suffered injuries to his head and other parts of his body.

The motorcyclist was picked up by public-spirited citizens in an unconscious condition and taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre, where he was seen and examined by a doctor on duty and pronounced dead on arrival.
