New Mauritian High Commissioner accredited

President Irfaan Ali yesterday accepted the Letters of Credence from the Non-Resident High Commissioner of Mauritius to Guyana, Purmanund Jhugroo at the Office of the President on Shiv Chanderpaul Drive.

During discussions, a release from the Office of the President said that the Head of State spoke on Guyana’s development trajectory and its global leadership drive in areas such as climate, food and energy security.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hugh Todd and the ministry’s Permanent Secre-tary, Ambassador Elisabeth Harper were also at the ceremony.

Guyana and Mauritius established diplomatic relations on December 1, 1992.
