Six new tourism offerings unveiled in South Rupununi

On Friday,  the Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA), as part of the South Rupununi Circuit Development Project in collaboration with Visit Rupununi, the Inter-American Development Bank, Compete Caribbean and SwissContact, officially launched six  new experiential tourism products at Manari Ranch, South Rupununi.

This makes 22 experiences launched by the GTA in 2023. Fifteen new experiences were inaugurated on World Tourism Day in September.

A release from the GTA said that over the past few months, communities within the South Rupununi Circuit were provided with the opportunity to conceptualise and develop tourism experiences. These communities benefitted from hands-on training opportunities and step-by-step tourism developmental guidance to ensure that they present nothing short of excellence today.

The newly launched experiences are:
–              Shorinamada Ancestral Expedition
–              Wapichan Traditions Discovery Tour
–              Aishar Toon – A True Wapishan Experience
–              Piichillnau’s World – The Little People’s culinary Tour
–              Saddle Mountain Ranch Experience
–              Atorad Experience

As part of the programme, speakers included the Director of the GTA – Kamrul Baksh, the Manager of Product Development at the GTA – Candace Phillips, the Chief of Operations, IDB Country Office (Guyana) –  Ivan Gaviria and the President of Visit Rupununi –  Melanie McTurk.
