A tomb identified to be that of Corentyne murder victim, Ramanand Mingo, located in the Babu Jaan Cemetery was yesterday discovered vandalized just around 10 am leaving his family in a state of despair.

According to Mingo’s relatives, they were informed that the tomb was desecrated and after arriving at the location yesterday morning they were able to confirm same.

Sections of the side of the tomb along with the top were destroyed while the inside was completely ransacked leaving the body exposed. What appeared to be sledgehammer imprints were noticed on the damaged materials.

Upset relatives yesterday explained, that Mingo was buried with an empty side bag which he always wore with him before his death. The relatives said that there was nothing in the bag but suggested that it could have given the illusion to the perpetrator(s) that Mingo might have been buried with valuables.
