Larceny charge against Woodley Park teen dismissed after complainant declines to give evidence

A break and enter and larceny charge against a Woodley Park teenager was this week dismissed at the Fort Wellington Magistrate’s Court after the complainant declined  to provide evidence to the court.

Police in Region Five received a report of a break and enter and larceny committed on the dwelling house of Nezam Ghanie, which occurred between 2023/12/02 and 2023/12/03 where one HP Laptop valued $90,000 was stolen.

However, following an investigation, Tameshwar Jaipersaud also known as ‘Vinood’, 18, of Lot 182 Woodley Park, West Coast Berbice was arrested and a file was prepared to have the individual placed before the court. 

Jaipersaud this week appeared at the Fort Wellington Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Peter Hugh where he was read the charge.

The accused pleaded not guilty, however, the complainant stated that he wished not to offer any evidence. As such, the charge was dismissed against the accused.
