Christmas is the most auspicious time of the year when hearts and minds think of dear ones and succumb to those who need. At this time, the Dharm Shala in Albouystown and Berbice, now almost 103 years old, makes its only annual appeal for financial help to continue its humane and sustained charity. More than 60 persons in Albouystown and Berbice are fed three meals daily for 365 days. In addition, they are housed and clothed free of charge with the amenities of civilized living. Their social, health and religious needs are well taken care of.
