Buxton man nabbed with ganja in potato chips’ cans

An unemployed Buxton man was yesterday morning nabbed with 119 grammes of marijuana concealed in Pringles and Lay’s Stax containers.

According to a police report, the suspect was intercepted at Friendship, East Coast Demerara at around 2:00 AM. Acting on suspicions, police conducted a search on the suspect and found one Pringles can and one Lay’s Stax can containing a total of 38 transparent plastic bags containing leaves, seeds, and stems believed to be marijuana. Additionally, law enforcement officers found more bags containing ‘fronto’ and ‘bamboo leaves’.

After he was read his rights, the unemployed man and the items were taken to the Vigilance Police Station. There, in the presence of the suspect, the items were weighed and amounted to 119 grammes, the police said.

The suspect is currently in police custody, awaiting charges.
