A summons can be served anywhere

Dear Editor,

Member of Parliament, Roysdale Forde has written in opposition to the service of “summons” to a member of the diaspora in New York and said, it is illegal. However, according to “Mr. Google”, a summons can be served anywhere in the world. Assuming that Mr. Forde is right, why is he not comparatively angry that foreign citizens are allowed to file numerous writs and lawsuits and clog up our courts here in Guyana?

Sincerely,

Chitrakha Persaud
