It was not a happy and joyous Christ-mas for some families with several deaths recorded between Christmas and Boxing Days as the grim reaper was out. Christ-mas Day alone saw six deaths as a result of various incidents. Starting with the early Christmas morning fire in Linden which claimed three lives; two were lost in an accident at Le Destin while another accident involving a pedestrian and lorry claimed the life of the pedestrian at Windsor Forest. Boxing Day brought tragedy to a Wakenaam family when two motor cycles collided and claimed the life of one of the motorcyclist. It is noteworthy that four deaths were as a result of vehicular accidents. Seven lives snuffed out in just two days. This happy time of the year did not bring smiles and laughter but tears and heartbreaks for loved ones and families. My condolences to all the grieving families affected by these horrific incidents.
