The Chairman of Region Three, Sheik Ayube and Regional Executive Officer, Jagnarine Somwar met with the Regional Health Officer, Dr Erica Forte and other health officials on Thursday on improvements to the West Demerara Regional Hospital (WDRH).
A release from Region Three said that they conducted a comprehensive inspection visit at the WDRH to assess and strategize on the necessary enhancements.
Their discussions centred on improvements including to the wards. For both the Male and the Female Medical Wards, proposals included installing new ceiling fans, providing new beds and bedsheets, upgrading bed frames and medical equipment, enhancing toilet facilities, addressing plumbing issues, installation of new monitors, drip stands, bedside cabinets and additional lighting.
