Schoolgirl, 15, gunned down in Trinidad

(Trinidad Express) A man who opened fire with a shotgun in Las Lomas on Sunday night killed a 15-year-old girl and injured a 20-year-old woman.

The perpetrator fled with the firearm and escaped, as residents of Savory Road rushed to the assistance of the gunshot victims.

Teenager Isabella Teelucksingh was pronounced dead at the hospital, and Heama Boodoo was treated and hospitalized.

Isabella resided at Kay Road on Savory Road and was a pupil of the Carapichaima Secondary School.

Boodoo is a resident of Kelly Village in Caroni.

Residents told police that at around 7.30 p.m., the shooter, who resides on Savory Road, emerged on the street holding a shotgun.

He discharged several rounds in the direction of the teenager and Boodoo, then ran away.

Residents took Isabella and Boodoo to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mount Hope.

Upon arrival, the teenager was listed in critical condition, and doctors fought to save her but she died while being treated.

Sgt Modeste, PCs Ram, Ramsingh and George and WPC Osbourne responded and searches were made for the perpetrator but no one was arrested.

An autopsy is expected to be done this week at the Forensic Science Centre, St James.

Detectives of the Homi-cide Bureau of Region Three are continuing investigations.
