Raymon Reifer cleared and can resume bowling slower balls and cutters

ST JOHN’S, Antigua,  CMC – Barbados Pride and West Indies all-rounder Raymon Reifer has been cleared to resume bowling slower balls and cutters after his action was found to be legal following an assessment in England.

The 32-year-old left-arm pacer was suspended by Cricket West Indies from bowling those specific deliveries after his action was deemed illegal by an independent assessor at Loughborough University, an accredited testing centre for suspect bowling actions, following an initial report.

Reifer was reported during the West Indies Super50 Cup match between Pride and Windward Islands Volcanoes on October 25 last year at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, where conceded 35 in eight wicket-less overs.

He underwent remedial work following the tournament, and video footage was sent to Loughborough for analysis, and he has now been cleared to resume bowling the deliveries.

Reifer has been named in the Barbados Pride squad for the first three matches of the West Indies Championship, which is due to begin in early February and run until late April.
