Kenrick Ewart Hazel turned 100  on January 6, 1924. According to the Ministry of Human Services, he is originally from New Amsterdam, Berbice and is currently residing on the East Coast of Demerara.

His wife Yvonne Hazel passed away six years ago.

Having served as a Fitter Machinist at Rose Hall Estate for 40 years, Kenrick became a go-to person for fabricating special-purpose tools and components, the ministry said.

His interests include cricket, visits to the cinema, and reading novels and newspapers.
