Pouderoyen defeated the Herstelling Raiders 4-1 in a pre-season encounter on Wednesday night at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground in Bourda.

The contest started in the worst possible manner for the West Demerara outfit, as they conceded a goal in the second minute following a strike from the right side of the penalty area, which nestled into the lower left corner.

Herstelling’s lead would last until the 22nd minute, when Keon Duke scored, uncorking a right-footed free-kick from outside the centre of the penalty area that sailed into the right-hand corner.

The West Demerara unit then took the lead in the 36th minute as Kevin Duke scored, unleashing a right-footed volley from the top of the box after latching onto a poorly cleared cross, which flew into the right corner.

The goals continued for Pouderoyen in the second stanza in the form of Dwayne St. Kitts, who found the back of the net in the 57th minute.

Awarded a free-kick outside the centre of the penalty area, St. Kitts uncorked a curling right-footed strike that nestled into the top right-hand corner.

The result was then sealed in the 63rd minute as Kenaz Stephens etched his name on the scorer’s sheet with a moment of individual brilliance.

Receiving the ball outside the right of the 18-yard box, Stephens unleashed a curling left-footed strike that flew into the top left corner.

It was the third game for the West Demerara outfit during their pre-season preparation. On Monday, Pouderoyen and Elite League side Fruta Conquerors played to a 2-2 draw at the same venue. Pouderoyen also contested a 2-2 stalemate against Elite League unit Anns Grove on Sunday at the same location.
