The police have advised Lethem business owners to invest in quality cameras and to screen their guards prior to employment.

Deputy Commander for Regional Police Division #9 DSP Ally last week spearheaded a community outreach with business owners and customers at the Commercial Zone in Lethem, Central Rupununi.

A release from the police said that he was accompanied by Inspector Alfred, Sergeant De Jonge, Lance Corporal Cameron, Woman Constable Alvin and Woman Constable Augustine.

During the outreach, the business owners were sensitized on security and were advised to have quality surveillance cameras for better footage to assist Police in their investigations. They were also advised to ‘screen’ security guards before employment. The Police team met and interacted with the customers, advising them to be cautious while carrying large amounts of cash to conduct their business.
