A 49-year-old man of Campbellville, George-town, was shot and killed in the wee hours of yesterday at South Ruimveldt Park, where he had gone to attend a wake.
Dead is Joseph Wilkinson called ‘Dreddy’. A relative told Stabroek News that the incident occurred at about 12:20 hrs yesterday, in South Ruimveldt Park, where Wilkinson had gone to attend a wake. This newspaper was told that he was shot several times about his body and was rushed to the Dr Balwant Singh’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Stabroek News visited the area and was informed that the shooting incident occurred a short distance away from the ‘wake’ house.
Wilkinson was one of three men charged with possession of 210 kilogrammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking in 2021.
