Dear Editor,
Sometime last week an official government release stated that the increase in Old Age Pension and special assistance won’t be available until March 2024. A few days later the teachers union called a strike. Almost immediately government released funds for the Teachers grant.
One is left to wonder how monies for teachers became so immediately available while some of the neediest members of our society have to wait months for their meagre increase in benefits?
