Skeletal remains found in BOSAI compound

Police are investigating the discovery of skeletal remains which were found in a drain without water in the BOSAI compound yesterday morning.

According to police, at about 9 am  on Thursday, Wainwright Bethune, a 52-year-old Technical Services and Environmental Coordinator of BOSAI and of Mackenzie, Linden, reported to the police that on Tuesday, February 06, at about 16.00 hours, while he was on duty, he overheard some workers saying that one of their colleagues had gone into the bushes to defecate and saw “a skeleton.”

Bethune immediately began investigating the claim. At about 08.00 hours on Thursday morning, he contacted Mark Jeffrey, a contract worker, who confirmed seeing the skeleton and provided the location. The police were immediately summoned

Detectives and ranks visited the scene at about 9.15 am, in the company of Bethune. The skeletal remains were observed lying in a drain, which had no water, at the Tailing Pond situated at the north-eastern end of the BOSAI compound.  The  scene was photographed and processed and the remains were taken to the Pensioner’s Funeral Home.
