Petterson-Griffith powers to 7th place at 2024 Sheffield Powerlifting Championship

Carlos Petterson-Griffith finished in a commendable seventh of 12 at the 2024 Sheffield Powerlifting Championship in England, with his foremost achievement of the event being the brief holder of the 93kg class squat world record.

Petterson-Griffith, who is locally known as the ‘showstopper’, recorded an impressive performance that included the world record squad of 332.5kg squats, an 182.5kg bench press, and a 360kg deadlift, which totaled 875 kg, and in the process set a world record percentage of 98.5 (888.0kg). His squat world record was eventually eclipsed by Gavin Aiden of the USA, who recorded 337kg.

Peter-Griffith, with his efforts, walked away with £1,750.
