According to his brother, Mervin Persaud, Mahindra left for sea four days ago. The brother would usually do that regularly as a way of providing for his family. Mervin said that he did not receive a call from his brother for four days but thought to himself everything was fine.

“My brother means everything to us, he usually goes to catch his fish and return, my mother is ill and we all join to take care of her since our father died”, Mervin said.
